How much:  Our goal is $70/child (tax deductible) to help fund our budget of $35,000.  For more information visit

Where does the money go?

Security upgrades: currently installing blinds in the cafeteria
PBIS experiences: rewarding our children for their hard work and behavior
Teacher grants: supplying classrooms with updated materials to help our children thrive
Classroom supplies
Community events: ice cream social, boohoo/yahoo breakfast, trunk or treat, Santa breakfast, glow dance, movie night
Teacher appreciation

Goal: $70 per child

Donate to Invest in Your Child

This amount remains consistent with last year’s goal. We are aiming for 100% participation this year. We appreciate any amount that you are able to contribute. The Westwood PTO offers the Invest Campaign as an alternative to the traditional fundraisers that require you to sell a product and only a portion of the proceeds return to the school.  We will continue our traditional fundraisers at this time, as our PTO is growing and evolving.  Invest allows 100% of your donation to go directly back into the programs that support the school.

Many of our events, activities, rewards, and security upgrades are because of YOU investing in your child and school, but it takes ALL of our families to make it happen. If a financial donation is not feasible at this time, please consider helping us reach out to others in our community.  If you know of a business partner please refer them to our corporate donation page at

City Saver Coupon Book Fundraiser starts soon!

Posted in Uncategorized

Hello Westwood Families!
Our PTO is raising funds for our school by participating in the City Saver Coupon Book sale. One book will be coming home with each student on August 17th. Our hope is that each family will “Buy One and Sell One.” Please either purchase, sell, or return the Coupon Book that is sent home with your child.
Send in cash or checks and additional requests for books on the envelope provided and return to your Classroom Teacher. Books cost $25 each and our school gets to keep half of that. Thank you for participating in this fundraiser!

First Day of School Westwood PTO Happenings

Posted in Uncategorized

Parents and families are SO important to a school’s success, and Westwood PTO is a key way parents can help support our school. Westwood is fortunate to have a great body of families and teachers who support our school. So far this year, we have purchased new coolers for field trips, 2 new BIKES for prizes, NEW spirit wear, supported staff appreciation events, and are getting ready to finalize the final phase to the security upgrades. BLINDS for the cafeteria! THANK YOU for making this happen.

Additionally, we are looking forward to supporting the PBIS system in a new way this year with student experiences at Westwood. Teachers will have the opportunity to request new equipment and/or materials for their classroom through our new grant system. Finally, we will continue our community building events such as Trunk-or-Treat, Santa Breakfast, Glow Dance, and Movie Night. It’s going to be a great year at Westwood!

We have three main fundraising opportunities this year. You will receive more information on these over the next few weeks. These include our “Invest In Your Child” campaign as well as our traditional City Saver book sale. These will begin next week. We are also seeking Corporate Donations (Tiger Partners & Paws Partners) this year as well.

We will invest these funds back into Westwood to further enhance the learning experiences and opportunities at Westwood. Additionally, we need volunteers. Please consider giving 2 or more hours of your time to the PTO this year! Be on the lookout for links to our Sign Up Geniuses for more opportunities to help with our community events and other happenings at Westwood. Thank you for all of your support!

New This Year: New Traffic Pattern at Westwood

Posted in Uncategorized

There will be a new traffic pattern at Westwood this year for arrival and dismissal of students.

Car Riders will be dropped off and picked up IN THE FRONT of the building.
Bus Riders will be dropped off and picked up IN THE VERY BACK of the building.

Morning: Car Riders will enter the front parking lot forming ONE single line. Children should walk down the right sidewalk to enter the building safely.

Afternoon: Those picking up car riders will drive past the first two entrances on Tiger Trail and enter the third entrance on your left. You will loop around this lot and pull back onto Tiger Trail heading towards the front of the building. Then you will turn right into the front parking lot. You will split into two lanes. Staff will be outside to help you!

***All car riders will be issued a car rider tag at the ice cream social, or you can pick up a tag in the office after the ice cream social. You must have the car rider tag in your front dash to pick up your child. IF you do not have a car rider tag you will be asked to park and come into the office to verify pick up.
