Are you a Westwood Faculty or Staff Member?
Yes? Then here is what you need to know!
How to submit an weekly newsletter and website post to www.westwoodpto.com
1. Go to www.westwoodpto.com
2. On a desktop/laptop computer: Click on the “About Us” menu item and then click on “Post/News submission form“.
2. On a mobile device: Scroll to the bottom of the home page and click on
“Post/News submission form” in the footer.
3. Fill out the form and add any attachments (jpg, gif, png, pdf).
4. Press submit. You are done!
Newsletters are published and distributed via email on Sunday Morning. At this time only information pertaining to Westwood PTO or provided by Westwood Teachers /Administration will be published. Publication decisions are at the discretion of the Westwood PTO Executive Board.
Submissions are due before Friday by 5pm in order to be published in the weekly newsletter on Sunday morning.
You can specify a day for publication on the website within your submission. Note: Submissions can take 48 hours for review prior to publication on website.
At this time Westwood PTO will not publish photographs of children at Westwood Elementary School on the website or in the newsletter.
Submitters are solely responsible for the acquiring consent for publication of minor’s names.
Only one more week to sell City Savers Books!
The PTO is looking for volunteers to help process book orders and deliver books to classrooms during our City Saver sale. The shifts are in the morning and are two hours each. Please consider signing up for one or more mornings. Thank you!
Who: YOU! And family, friends, and businesses: Invest in your child, Westwood, and your community
Why: To support events, experiences, and upgrades happening at Westwood
How much: Our goal is $70/child (tax deductible) to help fund our budget of $35,000. For more information visit westwoodpto.com
Where does the money go?
• Security upgrades: currently installing blinds in the cafeteria
• PBIS experiences: rewarding our children for their hard work and behavior
• Teacher grants: supplying classrooms with updated materials to help our children thrive
• Classroom supplies
• Community events: ice cream social, boohoo/yahoo breakfast, trunk or treat, Santa breakfast, glow dance, movie night
• Teacher appreciation
Goal: $70 per child
This amount remains consistent with last year’s goal. We are aiming for 100% participation this year. We appreciate any amount that you are able to contribute. The Westwood PTO offers the Invest Campaign as an alternative to the traditional fundraisers that require you to sell a product and only a portion of the proceeds return to the school. We will continue our traditional fundraisers at this time, as our PTO is growing and evolving. Invest allows 100% of your donation to go directly back into the programs that support the school.
Many of our events, activities, rewards, and security upgrades are because of YOU investing in your child and school, but it takes ALL of our families to make it happen. If a financial donation is not feasible at this time, please consider helping us reach out to others in our community.
